Can We Save Our Oceans?
Visual Artist

I studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art in the early 1990's and didn't really pursue art for a number of years afterwards.  I decided to train as a secondary school art and design teacher in 1997 and have been employed as one since 1998.  Since then I have become more prolific in my output and mainly produce stuff for my own enjoyment.  I specialise in oil and acrylic painting as well as chalk pastel drawings.  I produce work to commission when asked but also produce my own work for exhibition around the west coast of Scotland as opportunities arise.  Most of the work displayed here is sold already but if you are interested in something similar or have something specific in mind, contact me and I will do my best!

Born in Sydney in 1969, I moved quite a lot between Australia and Britain at school - Sydney, Port Moresby, Darwin, Brisbane, Bradford, Brisbane, Mooloolah, Caloundra, Brisbane, Edinburgh, Sydney, Tamworth, Sydney, Edinburgh, Sydney - and back to Edinburgh in 1987!

I come from a very musical family but went against the family tradition by ditching the piano and double bass in favour of the paintbrush.  I still keep in touch with the piano nowadays but spend a lot of time now fixing up properties, teaching and painting.

I got into drawing and painting because I like the visual and the tactile qualities of the media.  My work is generally of quite a big scale due to my incredibly shaky hands!
